Healthy Lifestyles in Urologic Care Highlighted at AUA Annual Meeting
Las Vegas, April 27, 2025 — The American Urological Association (AUA) Annual Meeting has kicked off in Las Vegas, showcasing groundbreaking research that emphasizes the critical influence of healthy lifestyle choices on urologic health and cancer management.
Key studies reveal how exercise and diet could potentially slow the progression of prostate cancer, the benefits of pelvic yoga for overactive bladder patients, and the connection between outdoor time and testosterone levels. Additionally, findings indicate that regular physical activity may reduce fat accumulation linked to declining testosterone levels. These discussions will unfold from April 26 to 28, featuring insights from Grace Biggs, MD, director of Pelvic Wellness at Griffin Hospital and assistant professor at Quinnipiac Medical School.
Dr. Biggs expressed the importance of emphasizing how lifestyle factors contribute to urologic health. “It’s timely to discuss how exercise and outdoor activities impact urologic disease states. We aim to motivate the public to understand the genuine benefits of exercise on urology-related organ systems.”
Highlighted studies will be accessible through the AUA Press Program, with key findings recorded and available to registered press attendees. Reporters interested in interviews with presenting authors and moderators can contact the AUA Communications Team.
As a premier organization established in 1902, the AUA advocates for urology, bringing together nearly 26,000 members globally. The annual meeting serves as a crucial platform for advancing the highest standards of urologic care through education and research.
