Mountain West Football Media Days Set for July in Las Vegas
The Mountain West Conference will kick off its football season with Media Days slated for July 16 and 17 at Las Vegas’ Circa Resort and Casino. This marks the third consecutive year the venue has hosted this significant event.
Representing the Nevada Wolf Pack will be quarterback Chubba Purdy and defensive tackle Thomas Witte. Under the guidance of second-year head coach Jeff Choate, Purdy aims to build upon his experience after serving as a backup last season. In 2024, he recorded one start, completing 18 of 25 passes for 239 yards, along with one touchdown and one interception. A dynamic player, Purdy also rushed for 60 yards and caught two passes for a total of 10 yards. After initially entering the transfer portal, he chose to remain at Nevada following the departure of Brendon Lewis, who also entered the portal.
Joining Purdy is Thomas Witte, the lone defensive starter returning for the Wolf Pack. A former walk-on, Witte is entering his sixth year with the program and boasts impressive career totals, including 73 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and one sack.
The event will feature a range of athletes from across the conference, providing a platform for players to meet the media. Highlights include athletes from Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Hawaii, New Mexico, San Diego State, San José State, UNLV, Utah State, and Wyoming.
This year’s Media Days promise to be an exciting precursor to the upcoming football season, as teams gear up for competition and showcase their talents on a national stage.
