Wolf Pack Year in Review Show Features Aaliyah Jenkins as Athlete of the Year
Reno, NV — Nevada Sports Net is set to premiere its "Wolf Pack Year in Review" show tonight, airing at 6, 8, and 10 p.m. The show will celebrate the achievements of the Wolf Pack athletes, culminating in the presentation of various end-of-year honors. Notably, Aaliyah Jenkins has been named the Wolf Pack Athlete of the Year.
Jenkins, a star catcher for the Nevada softball team, has made a significant mark in the program’s history. This past season, she earned the title of Mountain West Player of the Year, leading her team to a regular-season championship and breaking a three-year title drought. Her remarkable individual performance included setting several single-season school records in batting average (.455), on-base percentage (.546), slugging percentage (.916), OPS (1.462), runs scored (60), total bases (145), and home runs (17).
Cumulatively, Jenkins concludes her college career as the most accomplished player in Nevada softball history, holding records for all-time home runs (54), RBIs (196), total bases (447), and slugging percentage (.719), while also ranking second in runs (171), walks (95), and stolen bases (83). For her accomplishments, she was honored with the prestigious Ruth Russell Award as the top female senior athlete at the university.
