Nevada County Extends Animal Shelter Contract with Sammie’s Friends

In a move to ensure the consistent care of animals, the Nevada County Board of Supervisors has approved a three-month extension of its contract with Sammie’s Friends. The agreement will allow the nonprofit organization to continue operating the Nevada County Animal Shelter until September 30, 2025.

Additionally, the Board recently signaled its intent to approve a balanced budget of $415.5 million for fiscal year 2025-26, focusing on new revenue initiatives. Plans are also underway for the Woodpecker Ravine Fuels Reduction Project, which aims to enhance community safety.
