Nevada Softball Welcomes Promising Transfers Tretton and Glover
In a double signing that promises to bolster their roster, the Nevada softball team announced commitments from two standout local athletes—Talia Tretton and Karolyn Glover. Both players, who originally began their collegiate careers elsewhere, are set to make their mark in silver and blue.
Glover, a catcher, joins Nevada after a stint at Louisiana Tech under former head coach Josh Taylor. In her two seasons with the Bulldogs, Glover became a key player, with a notable performance in 2025 where she started 24 out of 26 games. She recorded a .240 batting average, along with three home runs and nine RBIs from 50 at-bats. Prior to her time at Louisiana Tech, Glover was a force in high school, earning the title of Northern 5A offensive player of the year in 2023 and leading Reed High to impressive success. That same year, Tretton was in the spotlight, winning the league MVP as a senior pitcher.
At Reed, Glover had an outstanding batting average of .580, hitting 12 home runs and driving in 64 RBIs in her final season. Over her four years, she consistently demonstrated her skills, making significant contributions to the Raiders’ varsity team.
Her arrival at Nevada is pivotal, especially with the departure of Aaliyah Jenkins, a four-year starting catcher and reigning Mountain West MVP. Glover’s potential to solidify the catching position is crucial as the team heads into the upcoming seasons. With two years of eligibility remaining, she is expected to make an immediate impact alongside Tretton, who will serve as the team’s new ace.
