Power Outages Continue to Affect Washoe County Residents
Reno, NV — As of 11:45 p.m., the number of residents experiencing power outages in Washoe County has decreased to just under 1,800, according to NV Energy’s outage map. The initial outage in northwest Reno, affecting more than 3,800 individuals, is attributed to a downed pole or wire near North McCarran Boulevard, which began around 7:13 p.m. Although restoration for this location was anticipated by 11 p.m., it remains unresolved as of the latest update.
Earlier in the evening, the outage count surged past 4,500, with additional outages reported throughout the county. A specific issue involving pole-mounted equipment on West 4th Street impacted over 250 customers, but like many other locations, is still awaiting restoration as there is no estimated time for resolution. Many outages remain under investigation, leaving residents anxious as they await power restoration. NV Energy is actively monitoring the situation and working to address the ongoing issues impacting the community.
