2025 College Baseball Tournament Selection Show: Schedule and Viewing Guide for the Bracket Reveal

2025 NCAA Baseball Championship Field Announcement Scheduled

The 2025 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship is set to kick off, with the Selection Show slated for Monday, May 26, at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN2. A total of 64 teams will compete in this prestigious tournament, which will be organized into 16 regional brackets featuring four teams each, seeded from one to four. The competition will employ a double-elimination format, promising thrilling matchups as teams vie for their shot at the title.

The tournament begins with regionals from May 30 to June 2, followed by the Super Regionals scheduled for June 6-9. The excitement culminates at the Men’s College World Series (MCWS), starting June 13 at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, NE. Last year, Tennessee claimed the championship, defeating Texas A&M in a three-game final—marking a significant moment as the first No. 1 overall seed to win the title since 1999.

The NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament is distinguished from the MCWS; it starts with 64 teams and progresses to a final eight who qualify for Omaha. The MCWS features two brackets, with the champions of each bracket meeting in a best-of-three final series.

Since its inception in 1947, the tournament has evolved significantly. The current format began in 1954, with teams selected based on automatic berths for conference champions and at-large bids determined by the NCAA Baseball Committee. A total of 29 automatic berths and 35 at-large selections will make up this year’s field.

As anticipation builds for the 2025 championship, baseball fans can look forward to an exciting season ahead. Stay tuned for further updates on regional host announcements and detailed schedules leading to the big event.
