Nevada Track Athletes Score Big in All-Mountain West Honors
Reno, NV – Eight athletes from the Nevada track and field team received All-Mountain West honors for their impressive performances at the Mountain West Championships, as announced Wednesday. The accolades recognize the top-three finishers in each event alongside the leading relay teams.
Highlighting the achievements, Magdalene George secured her second honor of the season with notable second-place finishes in both the 100m (11.34) and 200m (23.12) events. Annalies Kalma also earned her spot, taking third in the 400m with a strong finish of 53.90 seconds.
Lilly Urban made waves by winning the Javelin competition with a school-record throw of 56.89m, setting her sights on further success at the upcoming NCAA West First Round. Johanna Haas achieved a personal best in the Heptathlon, placing second with a total of 5473 points, ranking her fourth on the all-time list for the program.
Additionally, George, Kalma, Kylee Parsons, Vivian Groppe, and Halyn Senegal combined efforts to secure third-place finishes in both the 4x100m and 4x400m relay events. The Nevada team will compete again next week in College Station, Texas, at the NCAA West First Round.
