ECOMAGIC and POSCO INTERNATIONAL Join Forces for Carbon Neutrality in Thailand’s Energy Sector
In a pivotal move for environmental sustainability, South Korea’s ECOMAGIC Co., Ltd. has forged an exclusive distribution agreement with POSCO INTERNATIONAL to introduce innovative technology aimed at curbing carbon emissions in Thailand. The signing ceremony, attended by ECOMAGIC CEO Jeongjoon Park and POSCO INTERNATIONAL Thailand Head Wooho Kim, marks a significant step towards combating air pollution and enhancing public health in a region heavily reliant on petroleum.
As global climate concerns escalate, nations are rapidly implementing Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategies (LEDS), setting ambitious goals for carbon neutrality by 2050. However, the demand for petroleum, especially gasoline—which releases harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs) like benzene and toluene during transport—remains high. ECOMAGIC is tackling this challenge with its Vapor Liquefaction Treatment System, an advanced technology developed over 11 years, designed to significantly reduce VOC emissions and lower overall carbon footprints.
The partnership with POSCO INTERNATIONAL, a firm recognized for its proactive stance in energy sustainability, will facilitate the widespread deployment of ECOMAGIC’s technology across Thailand. POSCO INTERNATIONAL is already engaged in greenhouse gas reduction projects and emphasizes environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria in its operations, resonating with global climate initiatives.
This collaboration is expected to play a crucial role in Thailand’s transition towards more sustainable energy practices while ensuring energy security in the petroleum sector. As both companies work together to implement these innovative solutions, they aim to lead the charge in promoting cleaner energy alternatives and improving air quality for the people of Thailand.
