Joshua Bonde Appointed Director of Stewart Indian School Cultural Center and Museum
Carson City, NV – The Stewart Indian School Cultural Center and Museum welcomes Joshua Bonde as its new director. Bonde, a member of the Te-Moak Tribe of Western Shoshone, brings over 15 years of experience working with Nevada-based nonprofits and museums. His impressive resume includes roles as faculty at UNLV, director of conservation at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, and co-founder of the Nevada Science Center.
Originally from Fallon, Bonde holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Nevada, Reno, a Master of Science from Montana State University, and a doctorate in geoscience from UNLV. His leadership extends to board positions with organizations such as the Southern Nevada Conservancy and the Geological Society of Nevada. He was also appointed by former Governor Brian Sandoval as a founding advisory council member for the Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument.
The Stewart Indian School Cultural Center and Museum, located at 1 Jacobsen Way in Carson City, is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free, and visitors can enjoy self-guided campus walking tours. For more information, visit stewartindianschool.com.
