After 33 Years of Success, Nevada Women’s Tennis Season Concludes on a Disappointing Note

Nevada Women’s Tennis Concludes Historic Season with Impressive Results

The Nevada women’s tennis team wrapped up its 2024-25 season last Thursday, marking the ninth Wolf Pack sport to conclude its year. After significant anticipation stemming from last season’s successes, the Wolf Pack women’s tennis team delivered a commendable performance.

Season Overview
With expectations high following their best season in over a decade, the Wolf Pack aimed to contend for a Mountain West Championship after finishing fifth in previous tournament play. The team’s overall record stands at 17-4, with an impressive 8-2 mark in the Mountain West, securing second place among 11 teams. Despite a strong season, the team faced disappointment in the conference championship quarterfinals, falling to Air Force.

Key Player
Amahée Charrier shone brightly throughout the season, earning Mountain West Player of the Year honors. Charrier set a new program record with 26 wins in singles play and recorded a strong 15-6 record in doubles. Her stellar performance included a key victory over San Diego State, handing the Aztecs their only loss of the conference season.

Historic Achievements
Nevada’s 17 wins this season mark the highest in program history, surpassing the previous record of 16 victories. The team notably won 13 consecutive matches mid-season and reached a national ranking as high as 61. Though they faced a devastating loss in the conference tournament, the season overall saw the Wolf Pack’s best performance within the Mountain West since joining in 2012.

Looking Ahead
With a bright future ahead, the majority of the roster, led by Charrier and standout players, remains intact for the coming season. As they prepare for 2025-26, there’s a sense of unfinished business, as the Wolf Pack aims for the conference title next year.
