Incline Village Under Financial Scrutiny Amid Audit Delays
INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. – The Nevada Department of Taxation’s Committee on Local Government Finance (CLGF) has placed the Incline Village General Improvement District (IVGID) on fiscal watch due to repeated delays in submitting its 2023-2024 audit figures. This action follows a fifth extension request, leading CLGF to hold a meeting earlier in April to investigate the matter, attended by former auditor Davis Farr and IVGID board members.
Under this fiscal watch designation, the CLGF will enforce tighter scrutiny and new deadlines for IVGID’s financial reports. Residents have voiced concerns, particularly Judith Miller, who described the district as being in “disarray,” and Aaron Katz, who criticized the board’s proposals to raise recreation fees amidst financial instability.
The financial issues are linked to a transition to a new Tyler ERP system, which has resulted in significant errors, including $6 million in duplicate invoices. Despite these challenges, IVGID District General Manager Robert Harrison claims they are making progress in rectifying these reporting issues.
The next IVGID meeting is scheduled for May 7, focusing on budget management and organizational fiscal strategies. Community members remain wary as the district navigates these financial obstacles.
