Press Article: Inaugural Nevada County Recreation Fair Draws Community Engagement
Last Saturday, the Nevada County Recreation Coalition hosted its inaugural Recreation Fair at the Bodhi Hive in Nevada City, attracting approximately 60 exhibitors eager to showcase local recreational opportunities. The event featured engaging vendor booths, including an instrument “petting zoo” by Music in the Mountains, horse-themed games with the Gold Country Trails Council, climbing activities with Gold Crush Climbing Gym, and roller-skating rentals from Crush.
In addition, attendees had the chance to explore informational booths from various county departments, alongside organizations like CAL FIRE, the Bicyclists of Nevada County (BONC), Gold Country Fly Fishers, SYRCL, and the Bear Yuba Land Trust. This diverse array of exhibitors offered insights into the outdoor activities and services available in the community, promoting local recreation and connections.
The fair provided a unique platform for residents to engage with local organizations and discover recreational options, fostering community spirit. The Nevada County Recreation Coalition looks forward to hosting more events that encourage active lifestyles and enhance the quality of life in the region.
