Nevada Sports Net to Broadcast Mountain West Softball and Baseball Tournaments
The Mountain West Conference is set to host its softball and baseball tournaments, with every game airing on Nevada Sports Net (NSN). The softball tournament kicks off on Wednesday in San Diego, featuring the Nevada Wolf Pack, who secured the No. 1 seed after winning the regular-season title. Play-in games begin at 3 p.m., with the No. 4 Boise State facing No. 5 Utah State, followed by No. 3 Fresno State battling No. 6 San Jose State at 6 p.m.
The double-elimination rounds commence Thursday at 3 p.m. with top-seeded Nevada taking on the winner of Boise State and Utah State, while No. 2 San Diego State will compete against the winner of Fresno State and San Jose State. The tournament will culminate with the championship game on Saturday at noon, with a potential "if necessary" game scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the SDSU Softball Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 1,000.
In a first, the Mountain West baseball tournament will be hosted at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona, the spring training home of the Chicago Cubs, from May 21-24. This six-team event will follow a similar format to the softball tournament, with the top two seeds receiving byes into the semifinals.
All tournament games will be broadcast on NSN’s channel and will also stream on NevadaSportsNet.com. Since its launch in September 2018, NSN has become the only full-time sports channel in the state of Nevada, reaching viewers in numerous counties. Fans can catch the action over-the-air or via various cable and streaming services including Fubo.
