Press Release: Extended Deadline for Jazz & Beyond Art Contest
Northern Nevada artists have an exciting opportunity as the deadline for the Jazz & Beyond art contest has been extended to May 15. This annual competition invites participation from local artists, including teachers and students, with the winning design set to grace the festival’s advertising poster and program cover. The winner will receive a $200 cash prize, and their design may also be featured on festival T-shirts.
Now in its 22nd year, the Jazz & Beyond festival is organized by the Mile High Jazz Band Association. Artists can submit multiple entries, as long as each submission is accompanied by a separate entry form. Eligible artwork must measure 11-by-14 inches and be presented in any two-dimensional medium, including photography, watercolor, acrylic, and more. All entries must be matted, backed, and submitted in a protective sleeve.
Artwork should reflect a musical theme, with submissions delivered to the NAA Gallery at 449 W. King St., Tuesday to Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m. For any inquiries, artists can contact Alexander Cassimus at 408-264-4423 or via email at away4@earthlink.net. Entry forms are available for download at jazzcarsoncity.com. Don’t miss this chance to showcase your creativity!
