Fatal Crash in Reno Involves Multiple Vehicles and Leaves One Dead
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A tragic accident occurred early Saturday morning on IR580 southbound, just south of State Route 431 in Reno, Nevada, resulting in one fatality. The Nevada Highway Patrol reported that at approximately 2:15 a.m., a Honda Accord collided with concrete walls after veering off the highway. The driver came to a stop in the middle lane, prompting four individuals who were on the right shoulder to assist.
As one person stood by the Honda’s driver side, an Acura TL entered the scene. While three individuals cleared the roadway, the Acura struck the Honda, causing it to spin and hit the helper standing nearby. The female victim was thrown from the center lane and subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
The Honda’s driver, who sustained minor injuries, is suspected of impairment, as is the Acura’s driver, who, along with two passengers, was unharmed. The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified three vehicles at the scene and is seeking assistance to locate the individuals who left before authorities arrived.
