Press Article: Nevada Women’s Tennis Season Summary

Nevada Women’s Tennis Shines Despite Early Tournament Exit

The Nevada women’s tennis team concluded its promising 2024-25 season last Thursday, marking the Wolf Pack’s ninth sports team to wrap up this academic year. Following each season, a final report card will be presented, beginning with the women’s tennis program.

Entering the season, expectations were high for the Wolf Pack, who were coming off their best performance in over a decade. Returning four of their top six players, hopes of contending for a Mountain West (MW) title surged after finishing fifth the previous season. Ultimately, the team achieved a remarkable record of 17-4 overall and 8-2 in MW play, finishing second among 11 teams. They reached the MW Championship quarterfinals but fell to Air Force.

A standout player this season was Amahée Charrier, who enjoyed an exceptional run as she was named MW Player of the Year. Charrier achieved a remarkable 26-7 record in singles, setting a new single-season wins record for the Wolf Pack. Her doubles performance also shone, with a 15-6 record alongside partner Kennedy Robinson.

One of the highlights of the season was a thrilling 4-3 victory over San Diego State, handing the Aztecs their only conference loss. The match came down to Wiem Boubaker, who clinched victory in a decisive three-set battle.

The Wolf Pack’s 17 wins represent the most in a single season in program history, topping the previous record of 16 wins in 1992. With an impressive winning percentage of 81%, the team demonstrated they can compete at a high level, ranking as a top-15 mid-major nationally.

Despite a disappointing early exit from the tournament, the Wolf Pack looks ahead to the 2025-26 season, with a solid foundation for continued growth. With nearly all players eligible to return, including key contributors like Charrier and Boubaker, there’s optimism for next year.
