Press Release: Community Welcomes Home Veterans After Honor Flight
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) — A heartfelt welcome awaited Nevada veterans upon their return to Harry Reid International Airport on Sunday night, following a memorable Honor Flight trip to Washington, D.C. Hundreds of supporters gathered to cheer, clap, and wave signs, honoring the veterans who had traveled to visit their memorials, a trip funded entirely by donations through the non-profit Honor Flight Southern Nevada.
The veterans were met with an enthusiastic reception after landing in Baltimore, where they were applauded as they deplaned. Southwest Airlines Flight Attendant Bree Small shared a poignant personal connection to the event, honoring her late father, a Vietnam veteran who passed away last month. "He wasn’t able to do an Honor Flight, but I know he is so happy that I was able to meet you all and work this flight today," Small remarked.
The veterans toured significant memorials, including those dedicated to WWII, the Korean War, and Vietnam, throughout their trip. FOX5 is committed to covering the emotional stories arising from this journey and will continue to provide updates and insights on-air and online.
