Virginia Giuffre, a prominent victim in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal who alleged sexual trafficking involving Prince Andrew, has died at the age of 41. Her family confirmed she took her own life at her farm in Western Australia, where she had resided for several years. “It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night,” they stated, adding, “the toll of abuse became unbearable for Virginia to handle.”
Known for her courageous endeavors against sexual abuse and trafficking, Giuffre was described by her family as a “fierce warrior” and “a light that lifted so many survivors.” Despite facing significant challenges throughout her life, she remained a beacon of hope for others. “She will be missed beyond measure,” they added, emphasizing her profound love for her three children.
Her attorney, Sigrid McCawley, paid tribute to Giuffre, highlighting her strength as a friend and advocate for victims. “The world has lost an amazing human being today,” she remarked. Giuffre was recognized for her incredible spirit and dedication to fighting injustice, qualities noted by her representative as well.
Giuffre’s legal battles included a civil lawsuit against Prince Andrew, alleging assault when she was 17, which was settled out of court in 2022.
