Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board Launches "Buy Legal" Campaign
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) — The Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB) has announced a new initiative aimed at promoting licensed cannabis businesses and safe consumption practices with the slogan: “only licensed, only legal.” This campaign coincides with lawmakers’ efforts to combat the state’s $242 million illegal cannabis market and to educate users about the dangers posed by illicit products.
James Humm, executive director of the CCB, emphasized the rigor of the “seed to sale” process, which ensures thorough testing and inspection of products to eliminate harmful contaminants such as yeast, mold, and heavy metals. He warned that consumers often fall prey to illegal vendors promising delivery services that violate state regulations, particularly on the Strip.
The CCB’s website features a list of licensed dispensaries to help users make informed choices. Humm urged residents and tourists to support local businesses, noting that purchasing from licensed establishments fosters public health, safety, and state education funding.
In further efforts, local authorities, including the LVMPD’s narcotics division, are advocating for parental discussions with teenagers about the risks associated with illicit cannabis sales, particularly through social media channels.
