Former Republican Assemblyman and frequent candidate Jim Marchant has announced his bid for Congress in Democratic Rep. Dina Titus’ district. In a statement, Marchant expressed his desire to bring conservative leadership to Washington, prioritizing freedoms, border security, and support for law enforcement.
Marchant, a successful businessman who has started three technology companies, previously ran for U.S. Senate in 2024 but lost in the primary to Republican Sam Brown. In 2022, he ran for secretary of state in Nevada, focusing on election integrity issues such as eliminating mail-in ballots, implementing voter ID requirements, and cleaning up voter rolls. Despite winning the primary, he lost the general election to Democrat Cisco Aguilar.
Marchant has been a vocal election denier since his loss in 2020, claiming he was a victim of election fraud similar to President Donald Trump. In December 2020, he signed fake electoral certificates alleging Trump won Nevada, despite losing to Biden by a significant margin.
In 2021, Marchant founded the America First Secretary of State Coalition with the goal of electing “America First” secretaries of state to ensure voter integrity and combat electoral fraud.
Marchant’s announcement has already stirred up interest in the upcoming race for Congress, with many curious to see how his campaign will fare in a traditionally Democratic district. For more information, contact Jessica Hill at jehill@reviewjournal.com or follow @jess_hillyeah on X.
