The Mustangs defeated the Cougars 14-5 to tie them in the 5A Mountain League standings, with both teams vying for a playoff spot. Shadow Ridge coach Julia Meyn emphasized the importance of winning their remaining games to secure a spot in the regional playoffs. The Mustangs had a breakout offensive performance with 16 hits, including seven extra bases. The team’s top four hitters led the charge, scoring seven runs in the first two innings. Senior Madison Foster was instrumental in the victory with two RBIs and two runs scored. Pitcher Katelynn Quidato settled down after a rocky start to secure the win. Meyn praised the team’s determination and credited their improved offense to a collective decision to step up. Shadow Ridge will now focus on their upcoming games against Centennial and Liberty, who are currently ahead in the standings.
