Nevada Baseball players Peyton Fosher and Sean Yamaguchi received Mountain West weekly honors for their outstanding performances. Fosher was named Pitcher of the Week after pitching seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts in a win against Washington State. Yamaguchi was awarded both Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week after batting .571 with two home runs, five RBIs, and three runs scored in two games.
Fosher’s dominant pitching helped Nevada secure their first shutout of the season, while Yamaguchi’s offensive contributions were crucial in the team’s series sweep. His home runs and key hits broke ties and propelled the Wolf Pack to victory.
Currently tied for the Mountain West lead with a 17-10 record, Nevada will host UC Davis before facing off against UNLV in the Silver State Series. The team’s recent success, highlighted by Fosher and Yamaguchi’s performances, has positioned them as a force to be reckoned with in the conference.
